It was Derby Day of the year in which Affirmed and Alydar came to a showdown at Churchill Downs in one of the sports' greatest stories.  The Louisville paper's page one layout was all the Derby.  There was a picture of Alydar-the perfect horse from countless generations of perfect thoroughbred matings representing fabled Calument Farm.  There was a picture of a 17 year old jockey who had become in one year the riding sensation of racing.  That was Steve Cauthen, The Kid.    House and jockey measure 21" long and 21" Tall
